RESIDENCY PROGRAM

TITLE: in/visible cities

A Fully Funded Artist Residency in Islamabad

Deadline to Apply: 30 July 2025

Location:
Islamabad, Pakistan

Residency Duration:
Three Weeks (Exact dates to be announced upon selection)

Three selected artists will be invited to participate in a three-week, fully funded residency in Islamabad, taking place in August 2025, as part of the inaugural artist residency program by the Islamabad Biennale Organization (IBO).
The residency is open to artists working across a broad range of contemporary creative practices, including but not limited to: Performance Art, Writing, Literature, Painting, Mixed Media, Digital Art, Sound Art, and Interdisciplinary Practices.
Through the theme of in/visible cities, residents will explore and respond to the complex, layered nature of urban life in Islamabad—its architecture, memory, silence, and transformation. The program includes dedicated studio space, curatorial and conceptual support, city immersions, and dialogue with the local artistic community.
A post-residency exhibition will be held in Islamabad to showcase the outcomes of the residency, accompanied by a professionally designed printed publication documenting the artists and their work. Residents will also be considered for future collaborations, exhibitions, and projects within IBO’s regional and international networks.
